These look simple, but there is a lot of flavor packed into each piece. The crust had a gentle crispness and the center stayed soft and moist. I liked them best with a little lemon and onion on the side.

This one gave me instant nostalgia. Soft inside, lightly crisp outside and seasoned enough that I did not need any sauce. The lentil and meat combination tasted balanced instead of one flavor overpowering the other.
The flavor was savory with mild warming spices, and I liked that it was not greasy. The middle was very tender and almost melts when you bite it. I would probably pair it with something fresh or tangy next time.
Nice balance of meat, lentil and spice. It held together well but still had that soft shami texture when you cut into it. I had one with rice and the other with sliced onion and lemon, and both worked perfectly.
I was expecting something like a regular meat patty, but the texture is much softer and more delicate. The browned edges added a nice contrast. I really liked the subtle spice and would order these again as a side.
The inside was soft and almost creamy from the meat and lentil mixture, while the outside had a light pan-fried crust. The spices were warm rather than hot. It tasted very close to the shami kebab we make for family occasions.
